Gavin DeGraw was surprised by his latest album's success.  “I wasn’t expecting a top ten, but when I got it, I was like,
why not a top five?” He jokes.  This summer, Gavin hits the road with Cheryl Crow, but a song he loves to listen to in
the warmer months is by Bog Seger.  "Against The Wind is the best song of all time to put the windows down and
drive to.”
Sara Bareilles is touring with
college buds, Maroon 5 and the
Counting Crows.  She doesn't
give too much away, but says to
expect collaborations on stage!
One Republic's Ryan Tedder hurt his Achilles tendon not one, but two times!
He will be in a wheelchair for a few weeks, but he's not letting that stop him
from performing!  The band continues to tour as they gear up to release their
next single, "Say".  One Republic is gaining quite the following and even told
StarShine about a crazy fan experience involving a drunk man sneaking onto
their tour bus and passing out!  Kind of scary, huh?
After being out of the loop for a few years, Simple Plan was glad to be back
performing at Z100 concerts!  The band loves the crowd the radio station brings in
because they're so loud and pumped for the show.  Pierre, Chuck, Jeff, Sebastian &
David said they would dedicate their hit "Welcome To My Life" to the fans and
revealed they actually wrote that song for their fans.  The band is releasing their
second single off their latest album.  The song is called "Your Love Is A Lie" and talks
about a personal experience of Simple Plan's drummer, Chuck's, which he wouldn't
reveal the painful details of, but shares that the song is about being cheated on.
For the first time in fourteen years, the New Kids On The Block
performed live at Zootopia.  The crowd ate the guys up like it was 1990
all over again!  The group sang their hits "Step By Step" and "Tonight"
as well as their brand new single, "Summertime".  The group also
brought out a birthday cake for member, Jordan Knight and had the
audience sing "Happy Birthday" to him.  Seeing NKOTB on tour should
be quite the treat for music fans of any age!
Metro Station's Trace Cyrus & Mason Musso stepped into the
press room backstage at Zootopia like seasoned vets.  The
band is hitting the road with Good Charlotte and Boys Like
Girls this summer.  Don't think these boys are all rock though -
they like to jam to Sean Kingston and proudly consider
themselves pop artists!
Ferras is releasing his next single, "Liberation Day" soon and was
happy to talk about it after he was doing splits in the press room.  "It’s
about opening up and being yourself.  We’re all freaks in some way.  Let’
s celebrate that.”
Z100's DJ Shelly Wade
came into the press room all
smiles and with a friendly
attitude!
Donnie Klang was eager to let the Z100 press room know what was in
store for him!  From his single "Take Me There" to his album coming out
on August 19th, Donnie is happy his career is on the right path.  As for
his "player" status on Making The Band, he says it's part of "MTV's
creative editing".
Danity Kane is kicking off their tour May 28th and are excited to be working with Janet Jackson's choreographer, Gill.
The girls are thrilled with the success of their hit "Damaged".  Dawn is grateful to the label for choosing that track.  “They
knew what they were talking about.”  Aubrey even chose the song as her favorite song of the summer.  We suppose she
is a bit biased!  However, the group did all agree that nothing kicks off the summer better than the Fresh Prince and Jazzy
Jeff's "Summertime"!
Katy Perry was super cute in the press room as she
posed every which way possible for the cameras.
Her favorite was over the shoulder so she could show
off the hearts on her behind!
Jesse McCartney is smiling for many reasons, one being the
success of his hit single, "Leavin'" which he performed for the first
time at Zootopia and the other reason is the release of his album
on May 20th!  Jesse says it took him a couple of years to work on
the album since he says he went through "musical puberty" with his
sophomore record.  Now he's ready to celebrate his third album,
Departure!  “We’re going to do something in New York.  I don’t
think we’re doing anything major as far as publicity.  I think we’re
just all going to head to the bars and hang out.”
